For longer trips and as a back-up option, we recommend adding at least one heavy-duty 1L bladder to your pack. Use the Sawyer’s included bladder to scoop and input dirty water and use this heavy-duty bladder as a clean water carrier. Then, if your included bladder ever fails, you’re good to go with the heavy-duty back-up!

PRO TIP: While most hikers attach their Sawyer filter directly to a water bottle, we find that it is far easier and faster, to use a bladder that can be rolled down and squeezed to push water through the filter.
