• Dry Bag: Roll top design for a totally waterproof seal vs. a standard stuff-sack with the cinched top exposed to the rain. Roll top design also seals in odors far better than a stuff-sack. Note: We are not claiming the DCF (Dyneema® Composite Fabric A.K.A. Cuben Fiber) main sack, or a nylon stuff sack are odor-proof. Use the OP SAK liner for highest level of odor protection.

• Line: 50 ft of 2 mm, 975 lb test, SuperGlide, hi-visibility coated spectra line. This special ECO line has a smooth acrylic coating specifically designed to glide over limbs and limit potential damage to the tree. It also throws and glides through branches very easily and makes the whole bear bag hanging experience worry free. The ECO line weave is soft and it flattens slightly as it glides over branches. This is the lightest ECO bear bag line we could find.
• Line: We give you 50 ft of line, instead of the 40 ft offered with other bear bag systems. If you need less, cut it shorter and save weight. You CAN throw at least 25 ft accurately! 50 ft of line provides 25% more limb hanging options than just 40 ft of line would.
• Rock Sack and SuperFly Mini Biner included for using the easy PCT hanging method.

PCT Bear Bag Hanging Technique

0: Find a stick 2 ft – 5 ft long, about 0.5″ diameter.
1: Put a rock or gravel/sand in a rock sack and throw it over a branch 18 -26 ft high.
2: Clip the rock sack side of the line into the SuperFly Mini Biner.
3: Pull the rock sack line to pull the food bag up to the branch.
4: Reach up over your head and tie the line around the stick. Use a girth hitch or clove hitch.
5: Lower the bag until the stick jams at the SuperFly Mini Biner suspending the bag at least 8 ft off the ground…10 ft is better for tall Grizz.
6: Reach over your head and stuff the left-over line into the rock sack and cinch it closed.

Bag Retrieval

Pull the line down, un-clip the line from the SuperFly Mini Biner, snap the stick to release the knot and lower the bag slowly. Watch your head.

NOTE: Clip the mini SuperFly Mini Biner or tie the line Through the Buckle DO NOT tie the line over the buckle, or it can slip to the side and abrade the buckle-to-bag connecting strap. See picture above.

Pictured above (small 2nd photo) is the set up to use the PCT Method. You will notice the SuperFly Mini Biner is wide end up to create a deeper area on the biner’s main orange body for the stick to jam against and not cross-load the wire gate. Using a larger stick can press on the wire gate sideways and damage the SuperFly Mini Biner. A pencil size stick is perfect.
