MLD Carbon Fiber NanoNail ™️ Stakes were built to be the best all-around ultralight stakes available. We did not design these to be the lightest possible. Compared to other nail or tube stakes, they are stronger and more user friendly with better holding power due to extra length and a larger diameter shaft at only a few grams more. Your shelter collapsing due to stakes pulling out in the middle of the night can be prevented using NanoNail Stakes.

Our Carbon Fiber NanoNail Stakes were designed to be used with any type of shelter. The full size 8.5” stakes for corners of big PyraMids and tents in high wind and the smaller 6.5” stakes for secondary stakes points on medium size PyraMids, smaller shelters and tarps.

Q: Why do round shaft nail/tube stakes hold so well?
A: The Stiction Force of the displaced and compacted ground around the stake shaft exerts holding power uniformly vs a V or Y stake that disturbs the ground
more at insertion and has variable stiction over on the many stake surfaces. The NanoNail 7.8mm round shaft has enough surface area for high stiction without tearing up too much ground. A smaller CF or AL shaft or a small skewer stakes has less surface area for that high holding power, especially in softer ground.

• Angle the stake at 30 degrees for max holding power.
• Easy Removal: Use one stake through the pull cords to make a grip handle.
• For large shelters in high winds, double up the main corner stakes. Insert in an inverted V.
• In snow, girth hitch stakes in middle and bury at 90 degrees from the pull direction. Prep and compact the snow to lock it down.
• If you need to hammer them in, try VERY hard to keep the force in line with the stake shaft and the force centered on the head. If ground that hard, also no need to pound it in very far. The 6.5” lighter head stake version should only be tapped in,
not pounded.
