MLD Is Closed Until the First of Next Month. Interest in super ultralight gear has grown far beyond our production capacity, and in order to maintain reasonable lead times and the quality Mountain Laurel Designs is known for, we’ve moved to a monthly ordering system for 2026. How It Works: At the beginning of each month, we open ordering for a limited time. Once our production capacity is reached, the store closes again until the 1st of the following month. You’re still welcome to browse the site, research products, and build your wish list while ordering is closed. LEARN MORE.

WEIGHT: Super UL

Our DCF Repair Sheets are a super-strong, quick fix for repairs on the heavy use areas of your DCF shelter – near tie-outs, peaks, zipper areas, and pole circles on floors- and for packs or drybags. These patch sheets are made from medium-duty 5K DCF, the same material we use for tie-out reinforcements. The high strength adhesive backing, isn’t your standard 3M paper-backed mess; once this repair patch has bonded, it’s good to go for the life of the shelter or base material! Ultra-ultralight, you can toss these repair sheets in your pack for quick and painless field fixes.

HOW TO USE DCF PEEL +STICK REPAIR SHEETS/PATCHES:

1: Clean the DCF/Cuben Fiber area with regular isopropyl rubbing alcohol.
2: Let dry thoroughly.
3: Flatten the area to be repaired to prevent taping over creases as best you can. You may need some small weights (rocks or soup cans) to hold the area to be fixed down flat.
4: Round corners of the sheet/patch before applying.
5: Peel the backing off of the patch, and stick it over the area to be fixed.
6: Press down firmly and/or burnish with medium pressure to get a good bond. Use a smooth, non-hard object to apply pressure. A new and clean tennis ball is a good burnisher for a larger area, but your finger pressing down very hard is OK too.
7: Let cure TWO days for a 100% strength bond. Any curing time is better than none, so do what you have to in the field.
8: Patching small areas or small punctures on only the inside is OK; however, larger areas or ragged tears in stressed areas may need to be patched inside and outside.
9: Store the repair sheet/patches in a tightly sealed Ziplock and store in a cool place when not using. Doing this keeps it good/ gives it about a two-year shelf life before the UNUSED adhesive begins to break down and should be replaced. Once it’s bonded, it is good to go for the life of the shelter and base material.
